She opened Synergy Massage Therapy Centre in 2004 with friend and business partner Sherri Muir to create a safe and inviting space where they could offer their clients a refuge for healing.Įvery session with Allison is unique. When Rachel is not working, she is spending time with her family, working in the veggie garden, trying to get a hike or snowshoe in, and cooking up a storm.Īllison has been practicing as a Registered Massage Therapist since graduating from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy Centre in 2002. ![]() She has had success with treating various conditions including chronic pain, whiplash, sports injuries old or new, motor vehicle injuries, tendinopathies, scar tissue restrictions affecting mobility, and neuropathies including sciatic, carpal tunnel, nerve damage and thoracic outlet to name a few. In order to enhance the healing process, she frequently engages the client through the use of active relaxation techniques, such as guided imagery and breathing techniques. She is passionate about learning new tools and keeping current with therapeutic techniques. Since graduation, Rachel has been most interested in fascial release, visceral techniques, and the mind-body connection. Using pain as her teacher, she developed a deep connection with her body and was inspired to understand how it functioned at a more academic level.
